AVOID REFLECTIONS
Less reflective: UNIGLAS® ISOLIERGLAS
The UNIGLAS® ISOLIERGLAS range has been specifically optimised for bird protection. The maximum reflection of all insulating glass structures is calculated according to the specifications of the Swiss Ornithological Institute in Sempach: Almost all insulating glass types have a reflectance of 15 % or less and simultaneously fulfil the highest energy requirements for sustainable construction. Our solar control glass with only 12 % reflection is particularly effective, combining transparency and protection to optimum effect.
Versatile design options with integrated bird protection are also available with toughened safety glass and laminated safety glass
(e.g. GM RAILING® glass railings, GM GLASSICS rear-ventilated glass facades) in addition to insulating glass.
REDUCE TRANSPARENCY
Flat, high-contrast markings and reflective coatings on glass surfaces are particularly effective in preventing bird collisions. Glas Marte offers customised solutions for this:
Reflective coatings: GM LIGHT CHROME & GM CHROME
Partial chrome plating specifically directs the light so that birds can recognise the glass surface, while the transparency is retained for people. High-contrast or barely perceptible designs are permanently and stably applied to the glass surface in a multi-layer process without impairing the glass statics. The highly effective PVB film Saflex® FlySafe™ 3D sets new standards for laminated safety glass. Transparent 3D sequins integrated into the laminated glass reflect the light in a targeted manner and make the glass surface recognisable to birds without impairing the view for people. This innovative technology combines safety, transparency and design.
Light-diffusing surface structure: GM ICE-H®
The GM ICE-H® strut cure glass reduces light reflections thanks to a diffuse surface structure that scatters the light and thus prevents bird collisions. This glass solution is a natural and effective solution for minimising bird collisions while providing an elegant and stylish look.
