The tried-and-tested GM RAILING® glass railing system integrates photovoltaic cells to combine sustainable energy generation, contemporary environmental protection and aesthetic design in one system. Suitable for renovation and new-build projects, it can be ideally integrated into residential buildings, hotels, offices and many other types of building. The connectors for the photovoltaic system are integrated inconspicuously into the parapet profile without the need for a solid handrail. Optionally, even the filigree ‘Extralight’ handrail can be used or dispensed with completely. The surface, colour and transparency of the elements can be precisely matched to the building. The light appearance of an all-glass railing is retained thanks to the filigree edge protection profiles. The flexible arrangement of the solar cells makes it possible to vary the transparency of the railing by varying the cell spacing. Particularly noteworthy are the strip photovoltaic cells, which are barely noticeable as such and yet are highly efficient.
Assembly in two simple steps
The system is assembled in two steps, which enables quick and uncomplicated installation. Firstly, the substructure is firmly connected to the building, creating a stable base on which the entire system is built. In the second step, the glass modules prefabricated in the factory are hooked into the substructure. Once they are correctly positioned, the modules are adjusted and fixed in place. This method guarantees a precise and secure installation that ensures long-term stability and functionality.
