DESCRIPTION
What is special about GM HSG SECURMART®?
The GM HSG SECURMART® heat strengthened, toughened safety glass is subjected to a thermal toughening process like toughened safety glass. However, the cooling process is slower. This results in smaller stress differences between the glass core and the surfaces. The flexural strength lies between that of normally cooled glass and that of toughened safety glass. In the case of breakage, cracks are formed that run radially from the fracture centre to the edge of the pane, similar to the breakage of normally cooled glass. Like TSG and TSG-H, heat strengthened glass can subsequently no longer be processed. Due to its breakage properties, HSG is not a safety glass.
GM HSG SECURMART® is ideal for:
- Further processing into laminated safety glass
- HSG is used wherever flexural strength and/or temperature resistance of normally cooled glass are not sufficient, but the use of TSG is not necessary or useful.
