We offer versatile, frameless sliding systems, specifically adaptable, solid and weatherproof. The balcony or the loggia becomes an extended living space. Nine different systems cover the range of balcony and loggia glazing and offer practical solutions for almost every application to open-minded processing and assembly companies. Whether it is a down-hanging or a bottom-running sliding system or even one that combines hanging sliders with glass balustrades – our experts will certainly provide the right solution!

Of course any balcony glazing poses the question of which glass type to implement. Such applications require at least single-pane toughened safety glass. This results in a greater load capacity of the surface, more stability and a higher thermal shock resistance, that is to say the risk of glass breakage is significantly reduced.

Through the use of laminated safety glass, the systems of Glas Marte are also suitable for particularly large glass panes or for use in areas that are exposed to strong winds.
Depending on the system, the installation of insulating glass is also possible. Here, the thermal insulation property (Ug value) is crucial: The Ug value should be as low as possible, so that a better thermal insulation can be achieved and less heating is necessary.

Apart from the glass used, different glazing systems are also available. Below is an introduction of the two main types:

Balcony Glazing with Fixed Glazing
Fixed glazing is the cheapest option. It cannot be opened and is difficult to clean. In winter, this construction offers certain advantages: A fixed glazing can achieve better thermal insulation with relatively little effort. Closed conservatories on a balcony are also easy to shade. However, it offers little flexibility, as it does not provide the opportunity to move the glazing to the side and enjoy the unrestricted open space. Ventilation is also limited.

Balcony Glazing with a Sliding System
Sliding systems make it possible to open up the glazing and to adapt to the respective environmental conditions: open in good weather, closed in wind or rain. Sliding glazing has become a clear architectural requirement due to its advanced technical capabilities. Discreet profiles virtually detach the glass envelope from the substructure and create frameless, “floating” all-glass shells. Since the operation is linear, they are also suitable for low-depth balconies.

  • High ease of use
  • Easy installation

  • System diversity: for large and very small areas, for deep and very narrow balconies, floor-to-ceiling or sitting on a parapet, down-hanging or bottom-running, insulated or uninsulated, for balconies, loggias and terraces
  • Self-inspections and detailed examinations in the in-house test laboratory

  • Sliding glazing for terraces
  • Sliding glazing for doors and balconies
  • Balcony glazing
  • Loggia glazing
  • Sunrooms
  • Facade glazing

Sliding Systems for Balconies, Loggias and Sunrooms

All Glas Marte systems are self-developed. For all our glazing systems, we only use high-quality materials such as aluminum profiles, stainless steel ball bearing rollers and weather-resistant brush seals to offer a particularly long-lasting product that can withstand even sub-zero temperatures. We attach great importance to maintenance; the drainage, for example, was placed in a visible and accessible area – so dirt like leaves, earth or other debris occurring over time can be easily removed. In addition, depending on the system, we also offer a special additional benefit: the easy-to-use comfort package. This allows several glass panes to be linked together and simultaneously moved to the left and right. Afterwards they are unlocked again by a simple tap of the foot. In addition, the system also has particularly low rails and can therefore be made barrier-free on request.

These bottom-running balcony glazings glide effortlessly over the rails mounted on the floor. The individual sliding elements can be easily moved to the left and right. Depending on individual preference, the glazing remains completely open, half open or completely closed. The system can be configured in such a way, that the terrace or conservatory is accessible to people with disabilities, the elderly or infants thanks to its particularly low rails.

Balcony glazings of the TOPROLL® family are pushed in one direction or the other thanks to rails attached to the ceiling. Guides on the floor serve as protection against damage to the glass. TOPROLL® systems are particularly suitable for room-high and large-surface solutions as well as for use in heavily wind-exposed areas.

This bottom- running system is ideal for sunrooms and other glass extensions. This system uses insulating glass, so that the rooms are more usable in the cool season due to its heat-insulating properties.
