GLAS MARTE WINS ICONIC AWARD
Iconic Awards, the multi-disciplinary architectural competition of the German Design Council awarded the all-glass railing GM RAILING® PLAN the title “Winner” in the category “Facade”.
GM RAILING® PLAN is an all-glass railing that covers the entire ceiling structure, regardless of ceiling height. All that is visible is a consistent glass surface, which impresses by being completely flush. What begins as glass a handrail for fall protection, merges flush with the construction at the contact point with the floor. The outer glass surface dominates the floor structure and the ceiling construction ends only at the intersection with the underlying ceiling. The mounting parts are not visible, there is no protruding component on the outside of the glass and no material change. From the technical point of view, different installation situations were taken into consideration, so that the system can be used as room-high fall protection or glass wall paneling.
GM RAILING® PLAN is the result of a development process by Glas Marte inspired by various ideas from well-known architectural firms. From the beginning, the vision of a different approach to all-glass railing, both technical and visual, was shared. “The creative ideas were taken to a whole new level”, says Ing. Bernhard Feigl, Managing Director of Glas Marte.
