History meets modernity
On the historic site of what was once Europe's largest locomotive factory, a campus has been created that combines contemporary design and industrial heritage. The clear lines and open structures of the buildings create an inspiring living environment. The cantilevered pergola, which is surrounded by our GM RAILING® UNI SOLO glass railings, is particularly noteworthy. The railings, some storey-high and some parapet-high, are printed with giant blades of grass. This innovative design creates semi-private spaces that set the access areas apart from their surroundings without creating darkness or boundaries.
Sustainability aspects
Sustainability was a central element in the planning and realisation of the project. Environmentally friendly building materials and energy-efficient systems reflect the commitment to ecological construction. Green roofs and a modern heat recovery system contribute to a sustainable lifestyle and ensure a pleasant living climate.
Technical details
A special feature of the project is the integration of our GM RAILING® UNI SOLO glass railings. These minimalist railings not only offer maximum safety, but also blend seamlessly into the architecture. With their printed design featuring giant blades of grass, they create a visual connection to the natural surroundings and give the buildings an airy, elegant aesthetic. The transparent railings allow uninterrupted views and contribute to the open, inviting atmosphere of the campus.
Combined in one profile
The outstanding feature of GM RAILING® glass railings is their unique modular system. These railings are made up of prefabricated glass modules in which the glass and profile are firmly connected and optimally positioned at the factory. In addition, a precisely customised substructure completes the system.
