A PLACE OF REFLECTION

GLASS RAILING WITH MIRROR OPTICS

Go Back

At the renowned Brown University, which meets the highest standards of teaching and research, GM RAILING® PLAN 2, the all-glass railing for the highest architectural standards, secures the stairs.

PURISTIC AND TIMELESS

To comply with the elite university's desire for modernity and clarity on the one hand and the requirements of the redesign on the other, Glas Marte chose a railing connection with a timeless and puristic architectural language. GM RAILING® PLAN 2 fulfils the highest safety standards. It is designed to be flush-mounted, without visible substructure profiles and vertical uprights.

PRECISE PLANNING

In collaboration with its American partner Carvart Glass, Glas Marte installed around 150 running metres of the all-glass railing with side substructure. The varying dimensions of the landings required exact recording of the initial data and precise planning. The construction includes both straight and inclined staircase areas and integrates LSG 20.4 TSG extra-white glass. A special feature is the chrome coating on the glass, which gives the anti drop device an inimitable look. The special mirror optics in the lower section of the glass railing create a reflective effect that gives the project a unique character.

As with all Glas Marte systems, the glass modules were prefabricated in the factory to ensure efficient and precise installation. Installation on site follows a simple principle: the modules are suspended and fixed in the substructure, which ensures high-quality glass support and avoids impermissible stress peaks.

Our commitment, technical expertise and close collaboration with Carvart Glass enabled us to deliver a project that not only met, but exceeded Brown University's expectations.
